Do not be fooled by the simple looking design, these air purifiers are packed with technology and environmentally conscience design aspects. In addition to Airpura's quality HEPA and carbon filtration, these models add a third and fourth stage of filtration. The first addition is the UV Germicidal lamp, used to sterilize antigens, pathogens and mold spores as they are trapped on the filters. For the most complete purification power, the Airpura p600 models feature a titanium dioxide photocatalytic oxidizer. The use of these technologies safely and effectively eliminates dangerous chemicals, gases and odors that regular air purifiers cannot.

How it Works

Airpura's unique pressure seal on the filter chamber ensures that all of the dirty air passes through the filters. Other systems allow leakage and do not achieve the 99.97% HEPA filtration rating. Additionally, the motor and electrical parts are located in a separate compartment which prevents off gassing from components and does not allow impurities to be re-introduced into the clean air.

The uv600 model utilizes a 20 watt UV lamp which is situated in the filter chamber to destroy micro-organisms as they are trapped by the filters. The 20 watt UV lamp provides the dose needed to kill antigens, pathogens and mold spores and provides peace of mind as they do not create any ozone.

Both the p600 and p600 plus offer new enhanced levels of air purification, the TitanClean titanium dioxide photo-catalytic oxidizer. The TitanClean's titanium dioxcide coating in conjunction with the UV light, creates an oxidizing process that instantly breaks molecular bonds and reduces airborne chemicals to smaller safer compounds, until only carbon dioxide and water vapor are left. The UV germicidal light sterilizes harmful antigens and pathogens as the TiO2 phtocatalytic oxidizer neutralizes chemicals, gases and odors providing maximized purification power. These units also implement neat little environmentally friendly tricks like the use of a reflector in conjunction with the UV bulb to get twice as much UV-germicidal light without the added energy costs of a second bulb. They offer the latest in air purification technology and do not require too much additional energy. The UV bulb is a 20 watt bulb, and photocatalytic oxidation requires no additional energy.
