To protect your alpaca wool duvet, it is recommended a duvet cover be used at all times. Occasional airing will keep it fresh and clean. Dry cleaning or washing by hand using a gentle detergent or wool washing liquid is suggested for cleaning. Air dry instead of using an automatic dryer. A 100% cotton storage bag is provided for storing your duvet when not in use.
Why use organically grown Alpaca wool? It is stronger, softer and lighter than most sheep's wool. These Crescent Moon duvets use 70% Alpaca and 30% sheep's wool. They require less fill to keep you warm. For those who cannot tolerate down it is a perfect alternative comforter fill. Synthetic materials used on typical comforters and bedding do not breathe and can emit toxic fumes as they age - affecting sleep and breathing.
Is this wool hypoallergenic? Yes. Alpaca wool is very clean and dry. This wool is grown without herbicides in a stress free environment and the animals are not dipped in pesticide baths. No chemicals, dyes or bleaches have been used during the processing. This wool does not contain lanolin or grease. The wool has been cleaned with natural products and is not chemically treated. These wool comforters are available in: twin, double, queen or king sizes. A reusable 100% unbleached cotton, drawstring bag is included for easy storage.
Wool is Dust mite resistant also. Dust mites have a difficult time setting up house in wool fill within comforters and duvets because of wool's dry, porous nature. Dust mites can live in foam, polyester and some down products and are one of the leading causes of asthma and allergies in the bedroom. In addition, many people who are allergic to feathers or synthetics have no reaction to these wool duvets and claim to have a more restful sleep.
Available with a 100% natural cotton cover in a 230 thread count or in a 100% organic cotton cover with a 260 thread count. Both are high quality fabric with a soft hand and have a natural, unbleached color.
