Expert Review

As a whole, we found that the family of Austin Air to be very economical. They are energy cost efficient, requiring only 80-115 watts to run even at the highest fan speed. Long-life HEPA, HEGA and carbon-zeolite filters last for 5 years before needing replacement. The 3-speed fan is quiet on the lowest speed, which means it won't disturb you during sleep, if you would like to run it in the bedroom. Please note, however, that this unit cleans the air fastest when on high speed. As with all air purifiers, you can turn up the speed when you are not in the room so you get cleaner air, then turn it down when you are in the room for less noise. Although portable with casters, we wouldn’t want to regularly lift these air purifiers up and down stairs. All but the Junior models have factory installed casters; optional casters can be purchased separately for those models. The visually-appealing, durable steel casing has a baked-on powder coat finish, and is available in 4 attractive colors to match any décor.
