About the Natural Rubber: Natural latex rubber is a renewable resource, and the rubber sap contains an antibacterial substance which is a natural dust-mite repellant. Rubber is harvested by tapping the milk (sap) of Hevea brasiliensis (the common rubber tree), grown on Malaysian plantations especially selected for their high quality product. The Euphoria mattress pad difference is that the rubber milk harvested in the morning is molded into sheets by mid-afternoon and is soon shipped to the Canadian mattress plant. No chemicals are needed to stabilize the rubber, and this is what makes Euphoria mattress pads so natural. By having rubber manufactured where the trees’ milk is harvested, this helps to sustain the local economy. Jobs are created without depleting the natural resources of the country.
About the certified Organic Wool: The wool fillings and batting that fill Euphoria mattress pads come from wool that is certified to OKO-TEX 100 through a leading German organic certification organization. The wool is shorn from sheep in Texel, Netherlands that have grazed only in pastures free from pesticides and herbicides. The land they graze on has not been used for agriculture for over 20 years, so it is protected from any chemicals. The sheep are bred carefully and live a stress-free life with a climate controlled barn in winter, clean floors, fresh, dry bedding, and a non-rationed food supply and daily check of each animal. The wool is washed without detergents, chemicals, chlorine, or bleach - just hot water and soap (only vegetable based soap) is used. It is processed without the use of oils or bonding agents, so it doesn't get any purer. And, the wool fibre produced retains 4-6% lanolin oil, a completely natural dust-mite repellant.
About the certified Organic Cotton: The cotton flannel covering used in Euphoria mattress pads and comforters is certified by Europe's oldest and most prestigious certification agency KRAV of Sweden. This guarantees that the cotton meets organic standards, and that social rights are observed in the production of the cotton. The cotton is cultivated and hand picked in the traditional co-operative manner that has been followed for centuries high in the Peruvian Andes. It is grown organically without pesticides, herbicides, or defoliants. Hand picking ensures the cleanest, purest, most resilient cotton fibre available is used to make these mattress toppers. The cotton used is white in color and odorless, unlike most domestic organic cotton which is machine picked, off-white, and has a detectable odor. After the cotton harvested, it is woven to very high standards into the finest fabrics available in Germany and Switzerland
