Setup/Care
- Rain barrels can be installed upon blocks or wooden crate to provide height for gravity flow purposes.
- Fine mesh screens should be used to cover any openings in the rain barrel to prevent mosquitoes and to trap debris.
- Rain barrels should be drained and removed for the winter months to prevent ice damage.
- In the late fall, you should remove the existing downspout and elbow and store for reinstallation.
- To prevent ground saturation near your foundation, we recommend attaching a minimum of 6' of 3/4" hose to the overflow fitting and directing the water away from the foundation.
- In order to avoid clogging, empty your barrel at least once a year to remove leaves and other debris that may have accumulated inside.
- CAUTION: Be sure to screw lid on tightly to prevent children or animals from falling in barrel.
- Our rain barrels are intended for garden use only. Do not use barrel to store drinking water.

How it Works
Our rain barrel is fast and easy to install. The directions, the spigot and the overflow valve are shipped inside the barrel to protect them during shipping. Just choose where you want the spigot (in the drain hole at the bottom, or the spigot hole) remove the washers and put it in the hole. Place the overflow valve in the overflow hole at the top. You may want to attach a standard garden hose to the overflow valve to direct the excess rain water away from your home
The Rain Diverter serves to capture water fast and efficiently and to protect the integrity of your downspouts. Use the diverter to channel water directly into your rain barrel. Our diverter fits all standard residential downspouts, metal or plastic. The installation requires two simple cuts in your downspout and then snap in the diverter. Leave it in the open position when you want to store water, or fold it back to the closed position and your downspout will work as usual, protecting your downspouts and keeping your foundation free from puddling. Our rain diverter is made of galvanized steel and comes with a lifetime warranty. It stands 11" tall and 3" wide
Reviews
Expert Review
The original purpose of these rain barrels was to import olives into the U.S. from Italy. We prefer to see a product re-purposed like this instead of manufacturing just for the sole purpose of retailing an item. They also never contained any harmful contents which is essential for storing water for any purpose. These are attractive, simple to use and will hold your water for many years. A must have for the gardener or anyone looking to re-use rain water for other purposes.
