Setup/Care

Replace the pre-filter every 6 - 13 months depending upon usage.
Replace the carbon filters and post filter sleeves every 12 - 30 months depending on use.

How it Works

These air purifiers take in air from the bottom of the unit. The air is passed through the pre-filter, then through the fan. The fan pushes the air through the gas media and then the post filter. Clean air is then vented out of the sides just below the top of the unit.
One thing to remember about all air purifiers is that the effectiveness of the air purifier depends upon the rate of recontamination. For instance, if you want to get rid of tobacco smoke and you continue to have smokers in your environment, the air purifier will not be as effective, nor will the filters last as long.

The IQAir GC series is able to meet almost any moderate gas phase removal need in residential or commercial environments. Offering four specialized air purifiers each designed to address a different types of gas, chemical, or VOC, it is easy to find the right unit for your needs. The GC series are fairly large units, but they are still fairly energy efficient to run (about as much as two light bulbs). Along with specialized filtration, they have a programmable timer to operate the unit at pre-designated times. This helps save energy by setting the unit to run only when necessary. The advanced controls include a filter monitoring system that we just love. The filter indicators let you know when a filter needs changing, allowing for maximum use without having to guess. These air purifiers including the filters are environmentally friendly and made with non-off-gassing materials.

Efficiency

On low speed these air purifiers consume only 30 watts of electricity. The real savings comes with the programmable timer that allows you to set the unit to turn on and off at certain pre-designated times, so you only consume electricity as desired.
