Craftsmanship
Handmade in the USA (Rhode Island).
Boris Bally crafts his artwork using retired signage from the Department of Public Works. The pieces are cut, handspun and riveted re-using old aluminum traffic signs. The final aesthetic result is expressed through functional coasters and trivets. Each piece is unique, individually handcrafted and signed by the artist. Due to the nature of this artwork each piece will vary according to availability of materials. Hand crafted in Rhode Island.
Summary
Designed and manufactured in Rhode Island, these trivets are edgy, modern and certainly something your guests will want to talk about. Scrap street signs are materials ripe for the battles of this decade: their obvious environmental message; the mockery of precious materials, which are symbolic of the American struggle for wealth and success, and their subtle defiance of authority.
